- There are no external differences between the male and female Chevron Tang. Not known to be bred in captivity.

- May squabble with other Tangs and Dwarf Angelfish. Generally peaceful towards other tankmates.

- The Chevron Tang will graze on algae and should be supplemented with vegetables such as blanched lettuce and nori, as well as some other foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp.

- Feed once or twice a day.

- When young this fish is usually reef-safe, when they are older however, they may damage SPS corals while feeding. The Chevron Tang is an active fish that does best with lots of lateral swimming space.

- An active Tang that can be sensitive to its environment and difficult to feed.
[edit] Identification
- Juveniles have an orange base colour with a chevron pattern of purple-blue markings. Adults have a very fine pattern of dark-green stripes, giving the fish a dark brown appearance from a distance.
