Sexing[edit]

Males have a higher dorsal fin, females are generally more broad than males. In male fish it is possible to distinguish a 3-4 mm genital papilla near the anus.

Tank compatibility[edit]

This Syno does best in groups of its own kind, at least 3-5 or more. They will eat fish smaller than themselves, but should not bother those larger. Should not be kept with very shy fish or slow-swimming fish, can even hold it's own with Mbuna Cichlids.
