[edit] Alternative names
- Golden Basslet, Yellow Devilfish, Flavissimus Basslet, Yellow Assessor Basslet, Golden Mini Grouper, Yellow Forktail
[edit] Sexing
- These fish are difficult to sex visually.
[edit] Tank compatibility
- Keep only one male Golden Basslet to a tank as they can be aggressive towards other males. They are generally peaceful towards other tankmates and are considered reef and invert safe. Do not keep with larger aggressive fish.
[edit] Diet
- Will accept a variety of meaty foods such as finely chopped fresh or frozen marine fish, squid, mysid shrimp and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, as well as prepared foods.
[edit] Feeding regime
- Feed once or twice a day.
[edit] Environment Specifics
- Prefers a spacious tank with plenty of rocks and caves to hide in. Needs an SG of 1.020-1.025. It is not keen on bright lights and may hide during daytime.
[edit] Behaviour
- An active little fish that is known to occasionally swim upside down. Males can be territorial.
[edit] Identification
- A striking little fish that is golden yellow in colour with red outlining the fins and a forked caudal fin.
