Ichthyophonus hoferi this fungus infects all species of fish.

Infected fish are emaciated with small round occasionally ulcerated black granulomas in the skin.

The fungi causes ulcers and cysts in most body organs, of aged aquarium and wild fish.

• Transmission to other fish is unknown.
