- This fish is peaceful with similar sized or larger fish and it's own species. Should not be kept with smaller fish however, as they run the risk of being eaten.

- This fish does not like bright light and will only venture out during the day in dimly lit tanks. It must have lots of places to hide with many caves provided.

- Is predatory towards fish much smaller than itself. It is nocturnal and will probably only be seen when the lights go out.

- Is a brownish grey, with short barbels and a large black spots on either side of its flanks; also with a rounded dorsal fin and forked caudal fin.
