Superworms, or King Worms, resemble mealworms but they are larger growing a little over 5.1cm (2") long. They are the larval form of the darkling beetle. They can be cultured at home, but the adult beetles may have an offensive oder.
Large fish, reptiles, and amphbians may be fed superworms.
- As with giving your animals any live food, there is the risk of adding parasites and dieases to your tank.
- These creatures are large and can pinch you if mishandled.
