Cobitidae

Cobitidae, or Loaches, belong to the order of Cypriniformes. Within this family are two sub-families, Cobitinae and Botiinae. These are all small benthic (bottom-dwelling) freshwater fish with a flattened ventral profile. There are 160 different species within this family.
