Gravid females may seem more full in the belly. ==Tank compatibility== :A predatory fish which will be a threat to those smaller than itself. Is best kept in shoals of 6 or more with similar sized or larger robust yet peaceful fish such as larger [[Rainbowfish]], [[Barb]]s and [[Danio]]s. == Diet == :Should accept most foods including pellet and flake, and is best supplemented with [[bloodworm]]s, [[brine shrimp]] and other small meaty foods. ==Feeding regime== :Feed once or twice a day. == Environment Specifics == :Provide this fish with a mature and spacious tank. The tank should have a dark substrate and dense planting (including floating plants) to encourage this fish to be more active and display its best colours. The body should have some iridescence and the fins are transparent. The dorsal has broad fin rays that give it a "spiky" appearance. == Species Note == :Glassfish are known to be victims of the fad to have [[Dyed Fish]].
