Origin[edit]
- Indo-Pacific: East Africa, including the Mascarene Islands to the Hawaiian, Marquesan, and Tuamoto islands, north to southern Japan, south to Lord Howe Island.
Tank compatibility[edit]
- May eat Corals and small invertebrates, so monitor it in a reef tank.. Is also territorial towards its own kind and similar shaped fish, can only be kept with other similar Surgeons in very large set ups.
Behavior[edit]
- An active swimmer and Planktivore that, while generally peaceful, is well capable of killing incompatible tankmates.
Tank Environment[edit]
- An open space with little to no live rock.
Diet[edit]
- Meaty as well as vegetable foods, such as Spirulina and Mysid Shrimp.
