I live in Arizona and needless to say Aloe is all over the place.
Every once in a while, I take a short wide pad, cut the thorn ends along the edges down and drop it in the tank for a week or so.
Does not seem to harm the fish and the Pleco and algae eaters love it. I drag it out before it gets too soft.
No issues in the past.
