Origin

Upper East Fork river system in Indiana to upper Salt, and Kentucky in Kentucky, upper Green, middle, and lower Cumberland, and Tenesee river drainages. Missisipi, and gulf slope drainages. Basically on the east coast.

Adult females are rounder than males.

Identification

An elongated fish with a creamy iridescent blue body with narrow horizontal brown banding and speckles around the head.

Note

To spawn the fish, condition them on live food.When spawning the fish should be provided spawning mops, or plants like java moss to scatter non-adhesive eggs on. Remove immediately after spawning before they eat the eggs.
