If you want to create a category you'll quickly find that you can't simply create a page and expect the site to treat it as a category rather than an article.

Here is how to create a category correctly.

1. Think of a suitable name. If its country based then you'll need to do something like 'Species (UK)' or 'Species (USA)' or 'Species (DE)'.

2. Add your category tag into an article at the bottom of the page. ie

and save or just preview that page.

You find that there is now a link to the category on the page. So click on this link and the site will create the category and you can edit its contents.

Please remember to add the following text to the top of the category page.

<!-- Please read this! In order to add something new to this page, you must add a tag to the article you create.
At end of the article you are writing, add
and your article will appear here automatically. -->

Then place in the category, some explanatory text of what the category is all about.

 • Tip: to place an article which may be named 'The Big Fish Shop' into category 'B' rather than 'T'. Then modify the category tag slightly like this.

 • Tip to link to a category do this:
Shops

The leading : makes it a link
