This is the template that will be used to categorize the fish profiles. Add anything else as is necessary. It is much more strict as to the input it takes as the code is more complex.

Before I finish it up, check out the categories it creates at Special:Wantedcategories, for example Category:Tank Size - 20 US Gallons (75.7L) to 30 US Gallons (113.6L). Wanted to get some input before I make the category pages and make it to final. What else do you think it should categorize the articles by? --Brian 14:52, 22 August 2007 (CDT)

Nice code. You could categorise by difficulty, temperature, diet, availability, tank compatibly would be nice as well but for some reason that is not in the template.

BTW, how is the plant profile coming along?

I'd do it myself but I didn't find anything on mediawiki on how to make these types of templates. Do you really just type it all in by hand?

Ya I type it all by hand.... Sadly.

The profiles should be categorized by difficulty, diet, and availability already, I'll do temp soon. I swear I'll do your plant one soon :) I'll try for tonight.

Here are the docs for the logic functions: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/ParserFunctions

The method I used before was using an old system, the new Template:Fish Data uses the new logic functions. --Brian 15:32, 23 August 2007 (CDT)

Not working[edit]

Brian, can you look at this. I've made an addition to detect low temperature fish. But it's not working. It's got me baffled.
