ಶಿವನೆ ಆಚರಣೆ:-ಇದೊಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಚರಣೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಳ್ಳಾಮಾಸಿ ದಿನ; ಕೆಲವುಕಡೆ ರೈತರು ತರತರದ ಜಾನಪದ ಭಕ್ಷಬೊಜನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಗಾಡಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆರಿಕೊಂಡು,ಬಂಧು ಬಾಂದವರ,ಆತ್ಮಿಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೇಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ,ತಮ್ಮ ಹೋಲದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚರಗ ಚಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಚರಗ ಚಲ್ಲುವುದೆಂದರೆ,ತಾವು ತಂದ ತರತರದ ಅಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಹಸಿರು ಹೊತ್ತುನಿಂತ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿಯ ಬೇಳೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಿಂಪಡಿಸಿ,ನಾಲ್ಕುಹೆಂಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ. ಹೀಗೆ ಸಿಂಸಡಿಸುವಾಗ ಹುಲಿಗ್ಯ...ಹುಲಿಗ್ಯ...ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಉಂಡು,ಹಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವರು.ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಜನಪದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವು ರಶ್ಮಿಗಳಿ ಅನಾವರಣ ಗೊಳ್ಳತ್ತವೆ.ಒಡಪು,ಕತೆ,ಹಾಡು, ಒಡಹು,ಕುಣಿತ, ನಟನೆ ಕೃಷಿ ಬದುಕಿನ ಹಲವು ಮಜಲುಗಳು ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ.

 ಇದಾದ ನಂತರ ಸಂಜೆ, ಸೂರ್ಯ ಕೆಂಪಾದಾಗ ಹೊಲಬಿಟ್ಟು ಊರಕಡೆ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಗಾಡಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗಾಡಿಯ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿಯ

ಬೇಳೆಯ ಮಾದರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಈ ಶಿವನೆ ಆಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜಾತಿಯ ಜನರು ಸೇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೇಳೆದ ಬೇಳೆಯಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದೇಹದ ಆಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ,ದೊತರ,ರುಮಾಲು, ಕೋಟು ಹಾಕಿ,ಕೊರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಶಿವನ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಊರಿನ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊತ್ತು ತರುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಈ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಮುಂದೆಮುಂದೆ ಶೂಡಂಭಿ ಸುಡುವುದು,ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಐದು ಫೂಟ್ ಹಿಡಿದು ಐವತ್ತು ಪೂಟ್ ಎತ್ತರದ, ತುದಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿದ,ಸಜ್ಜೆಯ ಕಣಕಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ,ಶೂಡಂಭಿ(ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಹಿಲಾಲ)ಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತವೆ.ಇದೊಂದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಆಟ.ಆಟಗಾರರು ಬಹಳ ಖುಷಿಯಿಂದ ಈ ಆಟ ಆಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ಚಳಿ ಆಹುತಿಯಾಯಿತು,ನಿವಿನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೃಷಿ ಕಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾರಂಬಿಸಿ,ಅಂದರೆ ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇದೆ. ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಂಜೆ ಆರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ವಾಗಿ ಇದು, ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗಿಯುವ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯಾಟದ ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಯೇ"ಶಿವನೆ ಆಚರಣೆ"
