Back pressure

Back pressure is typically referring to when you apply air or water pressure to one end of a tube or pipe and then restrict the flow further down the pipe. This causes the device, say a air pump, producing the initial pressure to work hard against the flow and can cause the device to become damaged as it is doing extra work.
