Origin

Sexing

Males more colourful, females plumper.

Tank compatibility

Will get along with most fish and other tank inhabitants that won't fit in the Sunfishes' mouths. Males get defensive and territorial during breeding but usually just chase other creatures away rather than maul them apart like their bigger cousins.

Diet

A fussy eater, may only initially accept live foods such as bloodworm and mosquito larvae. Some may wean on to frozen food alternatives and maybe pellets/flakes.
