What is is?[edit]

MS is short for Mineralised soil.

This is when you take soil and lay it out in a thin layer to dry out completely.

This exposes the soil to the air and beaks down the organic matter to help prevent a initial release of ammonia which can be given off when making a Walstad tank.

  • It may also kill off parasites that may be lurking in the soil.
  • It may also kill off beneficial bacteria and fungi.
