An invertebrate is any animal without a vertebral column (spine).

Typical examples found in the aquarium are Sponges, Jellyfish, Flatworms, Roundworms, Sea stars, Sea urchins, Sea cucumbers, Squid, Snails, Crabs and Shrimps (crustaceans), Crayfish and Lobsters.
