Gobys belong to the large family of Gobiidae and are found in both saltwater and brackish.
Jawfish look very similar to Gobys but belong to the family Opistognathidae.
Dartfish share similarities with Gobys, but belong to the family Ptereleotridae.
Blennies also share similar characteristics to Gobys and mostly belong to the family Blenniidae. They are mostly found in tropical and subtropical saltwater, very rarely in brackish or freshwater.
