The black tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) also known as the black skirt tetra petticoat tetra high-fin black skirt tetra and blackamor is a freshwater fish from the characin family.[1]

The recommended tank size for black tetras is at least 20 gallons. They grow up to 7.5 cm (3.0 in) in length and have a roughly tetragonal body shape.[2]
