Renaming an article is very easy to do. But not immediately obvious.

Click on the 'Move' icon and you'll be instructed to give a new name and the reason for doing so.

Once you do this the System automatically transfers the content of the article to the new one. The old one gets made blank and a redirect to the new page is inserted. This is so people who may have bookmarked the page or use a external Search Engine like Google or Live can still find it.

It's also handy if a species or product gets renamed (quite often happens) and with a Move performed, both the old name and the new name remain live for people to find.

Why is it called Move and not Rename?[edit]

This is because all changes are kept historical and can be reversed. So in effect you're not really renaming an article, simply creating a new one and transferring the old contents to the new page.
