Males are usually larger than females and go through a succession of color changes when breeding.

It is reef safe and needs plenty of live rock for hunting and grazing to thrive.
Diet[edit]
Finely chopped crustacean flesh, mysis and vitamin-enriched brine shrimp as well as frozen herbivore foods.
Feeding regime[edit]
Feed twice per day.
Environment specifics[edit]
Specific gravity of 1.020-1.025, pH 8.1-8.4, dKH 8-12 and temperature 72-78F. It should be housed in an aquarium with lots of live rock so that it can hunt and graze, otherwise it will not thrive.
Behaviour[edit]
It is venomous and you should exercise caution when placing your hands in the tank as it may mistake your fingers for an attacker and deliver a painful bite. It is semi-aggressive.
Identification[edit]
- This fish is typical Blenny in shape with a long body and large eyes positioned at the top of it's boxy head. The Canary Blenny matches its name well as the entire body is a vibrant yellow in colour with a sharply forked caudal fin.
