- A North American species of Sturgeon found in the bottom of main channels and embayments of large turbid rivers; frequently in flowing water over sand and mixed with gravel and mud.
Tank compatibility[edit]
- A large bottom dweller that should not be kept with small companions as they are likely to be eaten.
Diet[edit]
- They feed on the bottom, so you should give them special sturgeon diets or large pellets meant for large predatory fish.
Environment specifics[edit]
- These fish grow too large for an aquarium and are strictly pond fish. They should not be considered for a pond anything less than 3785 Litres (1000 US G.), over 7571 Litres (2000 US G.) is better.
