So the next question is... do we want to accept artsy images? Images that don't really contribute to the article but display the animal well?

My vote, is yes. We have established a gallery section fairly well off the articles area. We have the harddrive space for the images, I think we can add images to the gallery if they deserve it (are generally good images) even if they are not in the main species article.

I agree. As long as the image in question is clear and well focused and would allow someone viewing it to successfully ID their own fish, it's good to go. --Cat 09:35, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
