- Thank you very much. More pictures and details to follow. Huw Powell 03:39, 18 April 2011 (EDT)
- Agreed good design, simple. +1. I assume you are going to put it in a housing? --Brian 08:35, 19 April 2011 (EDT)
- I will be combining it with my UPS system - what is shown will go where the little (dead) battery used to be, there will be a big external battery, and a nice local 12v supply for the device. So there will never be a nice photo of this device as a "standalone" box, but I will upload the final versions as I slowly get them done of the combined project. Huw Powell 06:10, 21 April 2011 (EDT)
Got my battery yesterday and hacked into the UPS, finished it today... IT WORKS! Took photos, will update this article and the UPS one shortly. I am so psyched I didn't let the smoke out of that little 555! Huw Powell 23:12, 4 May 2011 (CDT)
UPS limit?[edit]
How long does the UPS remain on for?
Every UPS I've owned always shutdown after ~20mins. Even a 1200VA one! I contacted APC and they said this is a design feature. Wish it didn't, as the UPS was only lightly loaded with a 20W filter!
